Kaziranga National Park in Assam in Eastern India famous for its One Horned Rhinos living in natural space. One of the most sought after wildlife holiday destinations in India, Kaziranga National park sprinkled with elephant-grass meadows, swampy lagoons, and dense forests is home to more than 2200 Indian one-horned rhinoceros, approximately 2/3rd of their total world population. Besides the iconic Greater one-horned rhinoceros, the park is the breeding ground of elephants, wild water buffalo, and swamp deer. Over the time, the tiger population has also increased in Kaziranga, and that’s the reason why Kaziranga was declared as Tiger Reserve in 2006. Also, the park is home to many rare species of birds.

Kaziranga National Park is a UNESCO Word Heritage Site since 1985 AD and is open to visitors from 01st November to 30th April every year.

Nearest Airport to Kaziranga National Park is Jorahat (112 Kms / 3 Hours ) or Guwahati ( 200 Kms / 4.5 Hours ). Drive from Jorhat Airport to Kaziranga National Park is very picturesque all along the tea gardens.

A small village Majauli near Jorhat is 2nd largest river island in the world and is home to three important Hindu monasteries. One can visit Majauli by a ferry from Jorhat through mighty Brahamputra river and after enjoying rural life and monasteries in Majauli can make an overnight stay at one of the cruises on the banks of Brahamputra.
