Nagarhole National Park or Rajiv Gandhi National Park in Karnataka in South India is 50 kms and 1.5 hours from Mysore and is a part of Nilgiri Biosphere reserve and under Project Tiger. The park was an exclusive hunting forest of the kings of the Wodeyar rulers, the former rulers of the Kingdom of Mysore. Kibini river runs through the center of the park.

With an area of 643 Sq Kms, Nagarhole National Park hosts various endangered wildlife species including Royal Bengal Tiger , leopards , Asiatic elephants, sloth bear , antelopes , wild boar etc. With the presence of Kabini river in its center, park is also home to hundreds of species of rare birds.

Nagarhole National Park is 50 kms from Mysore and 220 Kms from Bangalore, capital of Karnataka. National Park is open through-out the year. However , best time for sighting of wildlife is between September and March.

There are Jeep safari and boat safari available in the morning and evening to visit the park.
