Gir National Park or Sasan Gir National Park is situated in state of Gujrat in India and is known for Asiatic Lions. Unlike other national parks in India where one can see the tigers in wilderness , here at Gir National Park , Asiatic Lions can be seen in their natural habitat. After Africa , Gir National Park  is the only place in world where Asiatic Lions can be spotted in roaming free in their own kingdom of the forest. National park also gives an opportunity to see other wild animals and elusive birds including leopard, Asiatic wild ass, hyenas, Gir foxes, pygmy woodpecker, brown fish owl and black buck etc. Gir National Park is also home to Chowsingha – the world’s only four horned antelope. National park has a big water reservoir- Kamleshwar where Marsh Crocodiles can be spotted in large numbers.

Thanks to lot of conservation projects for the protection of the world’s most endangered species, 523 lions and around 300 leopards were spotted as per the census of  year 2015.
